Arabella was born in 1999, in Canterbury, Kent, United Kingdom. Arabella showed an interest early on in entertainment, Science and Media.
Science
From an early age, Arabella excelled in Science with an interest initially in Space, having been fortunate to have visited a number of NASA space centres and has met numerous astronauts. Her interest soon became focused towards marine biology. Her drive for science at a young age lead her into an Undergraduate degree in Biomolecular Science which she completed at Canterbury Christ Church University. Through her studies she became extremely interested in highly pathogenic organisms which prompted her to conduct her own research on the Ebola Virus as part of her BSc thesis. Arabella pursued this fascination to a Masters in Infectious Diseases at the University of Kent where she completed research on Blastocystis. Since her studies Arabella has found the area of food security and the role infectious diseases play in this a hot topic and is currently seeking PhD positions where she can use her skills to help public health, the planet and secure out future.
Throughout her university career, Arabella re-established the Science Society with Canterbury Christ Church University and was elected President of the society twice. She arranged for guest speakers, talks, study sessions, trips and socials to members. She also was an active member of the university’s student union and an advocate for students.
In her spare time Arabella loves to advocate for Women in STEM and increase their voices, so that the STEM community may be more diverse than ever. During autumn 2022 Arabella was a part of the STEMazing Inspiration Academy where she was an advocate of STEM to young children and others across the world. Inspiring the next generation, showing young girls that STEM is not just for the boys. Arabella likes to think she was a role model to some of those children just like what she experienced when she met Astronauts.
Business
Arabella has started two small businesses over the course of her university career. Beach Pooch and Novel Necessities.
Beach Pooch was created after the arrival of her sweet family dog Coco. Arabella could not find projects that met her expectations that took in the reality of owning a dog, and thus Beach Pooch was born. Arabella designed products which took in mind the life of a dog owner but never gave way to quality. Arabella taught herself the skills she needed to produce dog leads and accessories that were traditional but also high quality and with items that were sourced in the UK so she could also support UK businesses. She did all of this while studying hard at university and still continues to produce dog leads and accessories for both pooch and their owner.
Novel Necessities was created in early 2023 when Arabella wished to show the world her other products she likes to make. She knew it was not possible to showcase these items under Beach Pooch and thus created Novel Necessities, a shop which produces products for the bookworms in the world, just like Arabella, but also gifts perfect for birthdays and Christmas. She prides herself on her own designs and tries and tests all products, nothing makes it to the shelf if Arabella does not like it. She has a moto, “If I wont buy it, I wont offer it” – Only the best is sold on Beach Pooch and Novel Necessities.
Travel
Arabella loves to travel, thanks to her parents taking her to many different locations growing up she was exposed to many different cultures and different ways of life that have shaped her into the woman she is today; because of this she is a lover of different cultures, and history and thus, loves to visit new places and try local foods. She hopes one day she will be able to travel to all the continents on this Earth and as many countries as possible. So far her favourite country to visit has been Italy where she fell in love with the culture and food, however, she has no doubt this will change as she visits more countries across the globe.
She also loves to travel within her own country, the UK, and is currently enjoying travelling to different cities and different corners of the country.
Entertainment
Within entertainment, she has starred on stage a number of times in minor dancing roles for a regional theatre before obtaining a supporting acting cast role in Disney’s Jungle Book at Canterbury, Marlowe Theatre. Following this, she had a lead role in Garden of England at the Marlowe Theatre. She was a core member of her school choir and has sung five times at Canterbury Cathedral. She has sung solo with modern pop songs on several performances too. She has a classically trained voice.
Arabella no longer actively participates in acting or singing but is always available for auditions for television and movie roles in the future which is an area she would consider.
Media
Arabella loves media, it is something that seems to flow with her very easily and she likes to be creative as possible and achieve a high grade within her GCSE for the subject at school. She hopes one day to be able to mix her Science with Media.
